Administration.
Auditor:  The Auditing of the church and school’s financial books. In addition, assuring that the money is received,
saved and spent in the proper way.
Capital Fund Drive:  Several volunteers working together to contact the entire congregation so they may have the opportunity to
pledge money for past and future building expansions. This task is broken into many small groups. It helps provide
money for future expansion and present debt.
Church Picnic Committee:  Planning an annual or bi-annual church picnic for thecongregation and friends. The picnic could
include food, games, fun fair and recreation.
Estate Planning:  Helping people that belong to the church to develop or implement an estate plan that can help their family.
This can be done individually or as a group presentation.
Fundraising:  To raise money for a special program or ministry that would not be supported by a budget. Serving task by task, for a variety
of different reasons, to assist in raising funds.
Lawyer/Law Related:  Willing and able to be contacted for legal advise with interest in helping the church and it’s members
with various legal services.
Public Relations:  This is the primary means by which people in the community know where we are located and who we are
as a church. To help in the preparation and distribution of materials.
Retreat Planning:  Organize and Coordinate special events for groups which will help us grow spiritually, to provide an opportunity for
members to invite their unchurched friends to fellowship. The tasks include food planning, publicity, decorations, favors, arranging for a speaker,
greeting guests, setting up and tear down.
Track Attendance:  To assist in updating the attendance activity of Worship Services, Bible Study, Living Stones, Communion
and Fellowship.
Work on Talent File:  Assist in updating our talent files so the Church can help members be connected and have a resource
file. This may include mailings, data entry and research.
Write for Bulletin:  To assist in writing articles or announcements that may be of interest to ones Worshiping with us.
Write for Newsletter:  Taking direction under the individual in charge of the newletter which would include writing
paragraphs and articles for our monthly newsletter. This assures variety within the newsletter. One may also assist in compiling
and designing the newsletter for production.
Crafts.
Artist:  People with an artistic ability that wish to share their ability for the enhancement of our church and school.
Banners:  Creating, designing or making banners for different ministries.
Baptismal Banners:  Making small individual banners for each child being baptized at Immanuel. These banners serve as a remembrance
of the child’s Baptism day and to daily remind them that they belong to God’s family through Baptism.
Church Decorations:  People with a talent for coming up with creative and attractive decorations fitting various themes and assisting
the event planner in decorating for the event.
Church Flowers:Assist Church office in decorating the Worship Center.
Handy-Craft:To make or help make “crafty” things for the various Immanuel Ministries. This can take the form of centerpieces for a banquet to
gifts for shut-ins, to making props or backdrops for plays and other productions.
Sewing:Knowing how to sew by hand or on a machine. To repair items instead of replacing or hiring outside help. For upkeep on choir gowns,
costumes for drama plays and the alike.
Creative Talent.
Art Direction/Design:  Overseeing the direction of an activity with creative thought and purpose. This may include actual design and
production for various needs.
Marketing/Advertising:  Assisting in Marketing the Church’s image. This would include designing and assisting in the production of brochures,
literature and letterhead. This may also involve some form of advertising such as designing posters for distribution to announce an event
or conference.
Still Photography:  One gifted with the creative talent to take pictures at different church events for publications, newsletters,
brochures, bulletin boards and our web site.
Videography:  One gifted with the ablility to use a video camera for coverage of Worship Services, Special Events and for the production
of Church Informational Video’s.
Church Office.
Bulk Mailing:  Assemble and organize mail in bundles catagorized by zip codes. This would be for various mailings on many different occassions.
Bulletin Boards:  Assist in providing interesting information to place on the bulletin boards or displays.
Collating:  To gather items in their proper order. This may include organizing and catagorizing materials or lists to assure nothing is
overlooked.
Clerical Assistance:  Assist in any daily activities of the church office. This could include record keeping, making copies, using a
duplication machine and assembling packets.
Computers/Word Processing:  Using your knowledge in word processing to help keep accurate and up to date records.
Data Entry:  In-put information in the various programs on our computers. This would include assisting in updating records.
Filing:  Assist the office in organizing the church papers, letters and files in convenient order.
Organizing Newsletter/Bulletin:  One who oversee’s the production of the weekly bulletin and the monthly newsletter. This would include
art direction, writing articles and announcements and placing the information.
Running Errands:  This individual would need a means of transportation to assist the office or ministries in obtaining various items,
on an as needed basis.
Telephoning:  Assist an Immanuel Leader or Ministry communicate to effectively convey a particular message to people who “need to know”.
This can be done at home or in the church office.
Typing:  One should be efficient with a computer keyboard. This most often will include typing, word processing and data entry and assisting
office staff in daily activities.
Writing Cards:  Write thank you cards, sympathy cards and general notes to people of the church, adding a personal touch to many of the
correspondence sent from our staff.
Day School.
Drama Helper:  One that has the ability to lead children in acting and possible choreography in school plays and productions.
Field Trip Driver:  Provide transportation for students to various destinations throughout the school year and supervise the students
while at the location site.
Hot Lunch:  Help prepare nutritious meals for the children, serve the lunch and assist in clean-up.
Library Helper:  Assist the Librarian in providing, organizing and stocking Christian information and reading materials for the hands
of children and others. Also includes, helping children checking out books and reshelving books.
Office Helper:  Assist the school secretary with the on-going daily activities, assembly of newsletters and handbooks or with special
requests on an as needed basis.
Piano Player:  One with the ability and talent to play the piano. Would assist the school when music is needed.
Story Reader:  Assist Teachers and Librarian by reading to and with children in the lower grades. One would need to read out loud to children
and to communicate a story. This helps reinforce reading skills.
Teachers Helper:  To provide assistance for the professional school staff. Work with children one to one or in small groups to give remedial
or enrichment help. This may also include tasks such as preparing items needed for lessons and grading papers or workbooks.
Teacher/Substitute:  One with the education and ability to take the place of the hired teacher for a designated time period. This includes
following the scheduled plans and teaching the children.
Education.
Bethel Classes:  An overview of the Bible in which the outline places Biblical stories and events in context.
Bethel Teacher:  Graduate from the Bethel Series Teaching Program that has the desire to teach God’s Word to others using Bethel materials.
Little Gems Leader:  Teach the Sunday School Class to children ages 6 months to 2 years. Following the scheduled plan for each week.
Be creative in your teaching using God’s Word, communication, music, playtime and activities.
Living Stones Set-Up:  Assist the Shepherd in set-up for Sunday’s Living Stones.
Living Stones Shepherd:  To explain and discuss scheduled lessons with children of different ages. One would also oversee the
activities taking place each class. Discussion takes approximately 30 minutes.
Evangelism & Outreach.
Call on New Member:  Those who have good communication skills and will effectively call on someone new to the church, helping them
become connected and make them feel comfortable.
Call on Non Churched:  One with the desire to reach out to the unchurched.
Christmas Giving Tree:  One having the ability to provide for those who are needy. Assisting in obtaining the wish lists and setting up
the Christmas Tree.
Food Pantry:  Organizing and stocking the Food Pantry. Making announcements when items are needed.
Greeter Ministry:  Warmly welcoming members and guests on day of worship with a smile or a handshake. Assisting guests with questions or
information about our church.
Home Visit to Visitor:  Make visits to people who have visited our church and have requested that someone come and visit with them,
telling of Christ in your own words and experience. Also share information about the different ministries of Immanuel.
Information Center:  Staff this center before and after services. This provides help or find answers to questions for people.
Missions Cross Cultural Ministry:  Works with people of other cultures.
New Member Sponsor:  Members wanting to be assigned to new members. To help them become acquainted with our church by making yourself a
source of information on the many facets of the congregation’s life and ministry.
Organize Blood Drives:  One who would run or help organize a blood drive at our church or other churches.
Outreach Event Committee:  A group which helps in evangelism.
Phone Inactive Member:  One who would call a member and encourage them to attending Worship Services. Fill out a printed card for
each contact made. Pray weekly for the Evangelism ministry at Immanuel, for the people contacted and those to be contacted.
Phone Visitors:  Calling on guests and answering questions to those who came to our church and filled out the “We Care” card with request
on our ministry.
Prison Ministry:  Visit inmates on a one to one basis, showing care and concern. There are many inmates in the jail system whom have no
family nor friends.
Provide for the Needy:  Assist in a variety of ways to provide for the needy.
Tract Rack Upkeep:  One who would order appropriate tracts for church needs, school needs, seasonal and or special event needs. Maintaining
tract catalogs and samples. Assist church members to use tracts for special events. Displaying tracts to aid congregational members to
reach out and share Jesus’ Love.
Visit Inactive Member:  The Lord wants all of His people to be an active part of His Body. When someone drops out, it is up to those
who remain active to seek out “The Lost Sheep”. This person would have a desire to make home visits. The purpose of these visits are to
encourage members to again become involved in active worship in the Lord’s Supper and Involvement in Bible Study.
Welcome Center:  Staff the Welcome Center on Weekends after Worship times to answer questions, give information and handout various literature.
Groups.
Adult Social Event Coordinator:  Organize and run an effective social event that will bring joy to people and Glory to God. This
includes assisting leaders of Immanuel in helping people fellowhip together.
Bible Class Leader:  Oversee the ministry of providing refreshment for the Bible Class in order to encourage friendship and fellowship
among guests and members as they gather to study God’s Word. In addition, they will prepare and distribute an annual schedule of Bible
Class Hosts, lead annual training session for Bible Class Hosts, welcome and train new Bible Class Hosts who may begin during the year, be a
resource when people have questions or concerns regarding the Bible Class Host Ministry and attend at least one Leaders Training
Workshop per year.
Bible Study Host/ess:  To provide hospitality during Bible Studies. They work as a team, placing Bibles, handouts and attendance sheets
on tables, set up serving tables, set out refreshment, clean-up the serving tables, money, attendance sheets and Bibles.
Divorce Care:  For Adults who are or have gone through divorce.
HIS Groups/Small Groups:  A group of people which meets regularly in homes to study God’s Word, encourage each other as members, share
each other’s joys and burdens and pray for our ministries. The group consists of 8 to 10 people and meet for approx 1 1/2 hours weekly and breaks
for Christmas and Summer.
Ladie’s Aid:  Ladies that meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 12:00 noon with a luncheon, followed by a business meeting. Through
gifts and services they assist our congregation and other missions and ministries.
Lutheran Women’s Missionary League:  For women who want to spread the message of Christ through retreats and helping people.
Men’s Club:  Men that meet the second Thursday of the month, in the men’s club hall. Through gifts and services they assist our congregation
and other Missions and Ministires.
Mom’s In Touch:  A prayer group of mothers who meet weekly to pray for Immanuel’s ministry and families. Meets September through June.
Parish Nurse/Health Team:  Work with the physical health of people.
Rainbows:  Support group for children ages 4 through 14 who have lost a significant other in their life by divorce- separation- or death.
Singles Group:  A group of adults who are unmarried, widowed or divorced who seek fellowship and want to attend events with others from
various church’s.
Kitchen Help.
Bake Sale Coordinator:  Organize and coordinate the date and time of the bake sale or cookie walk. Advertise and announce goods that are needed.
Set up and tear down on the day of the bake sale. Work with a group of individuals interested in assisting in the success of the bake sale.
Bake Sale Helper:  Assist the Bake Sale Coordinator in the various activities of the bake sale and making it a success.
Cook for Street People:  This may include cooking at Immanuel or going to a soup kitchen and help others to prepare and serve food.
Dinner Event Coordinator:  Organizes dinners.
Dinner Event Helper:  Assists the Dinner Event Coordinator.
Serve at Funeral Meals:  To provide a meal at church to family and friends after the funeral of a loved one, expressing Christ’s love for them.
One will not be responsible to do all the above. This will take many volunteers.
Serve for Potluck:  The hand that serves others is greatly appreciated. This could be at a funeral, new member welcome, retreat, celebration
or other function.
Landscaping.
Gardening:  Interested in the garden and all its beauty. One would enjoy planting, weeding and cultivating a garden.
Grounds Help:  This includes assisting in removing all refuge from church grounds,keeping the area clean.
Shrub Care:  One who is capable to trim and beautify the shrubbery and cutting down plants for winter hibernation.
Snow Removal:  One able to shovel and use a snow blower to clear the side walk and other areas for members and visitors.
Yard/Lawn Care:  This includes the cutting, edging and weed wacking the lawn surrounding the church. One shall be able to
use a push or riding mower.
Lay Ministry.
Assist Pastor:  This individual would have a desire and capabilities to assist a pastor in his duties. It would include different areas
of ministry depending on the skills of the volunteer and the needs at the time.
Counseling:  Provide one-on-one Christian Caregiving. One would receive six months of training and be assigned to a care receiver,
someone who is hurting due to divorce, illness, grief, fear, etc. and meet with the care receiver.
Do Hospital Calls:  Assist a Pastor in visiting members and non-members who are sick and within the hospital.
Family Life Worker:  Help organize and plan for retreats, seminars, programs and activities to deepen Christian life for families,
marriages, parents, single parents, singles youth and children, marriage enrichment, parenting skills, caring for again parents,
pre-retirement planning, grief support, estate planning and contemporary issues.
Follow Up Hospital Calls:  Telephone and contact those released from the hospital.
Prayer Chain:  Includes praying for people that have requested prayers received through Worship Service Prayer Cards, Church members,
member’s loved ones, the church office, phone ministry, Immanuel Ministers and/or Pastors.
Shut In Calls:  Visit members who are unable to attend church services due to illness.
Stephen Ministry:  This would include helping individuals through their problems. One-on-one caregiving; providing a supportive
listening presence, as a person goes through a crisis in their life.
Maintenance.
Doors/Locks:  One would be knowledgeable in locksmithing and/or wood working. This task would include repairing or replacing the doors or
locks at Immanuel.
Janitor Help:  This involves the daily cleaning of the sanctauary, worship hall, bathrooms, floors and garbage upkeep. One would assist
the hired janitor in his duties.
Maintenance Work:  Handle the various repairs that may be needed.
Parking Lot Upkeep:  Assist in making arrangements or provide routine maintenance. May also include directing cars on busy days.
Set Up Chairs/Tables:  Willing and able to set up and tear down tables and chairs for the various activities, dinners and events at the church.
Wash Windows:  Help to keep the windows clean and visible.
Ministry Art.
Chancel Drama Ministry:  Reach out to people and share the love of Christ by performing in plays performed in and out of church.
Clown Ministry:  A team of youth and adults to create drama productions with clowns to present the message of Chrisitan faith in a
variety of places.
Dance Ministry:  To coordinate a production with dancers to help present the message of Christ in a worship service.
Puppet Ministry:  The use of puppets to help tell a story and assist children in receiving the message of Christ.
Musical Instruments.
Musicians:  For those having the ability of knowing how to play one or more of the following instruments and willing to use
these talents for the enhancement of the church during worship, events, retreats etc. Acoustic Guitar, Bass String, Drums,
Electric Guitar, Flute, Handbells, Harmonica, Harp, Organ, Piano/Synthesizer, Saxophone, Symbols, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba, Violin or other.
Music Vocal.
Christmas Caroling:  This takes place once a year. It includes people who enjoy sharing the Christmas message to various locations
by Christmas Caroling.
Praise Team Singer:  To have a strong voice to sing with a group during Saturday Night Worship Service. This can include the ability to
play an instrument in addition.
Sing Duet’s:  One with the ability to sing with another to assist in giving the message of Christ’s Love during worship services.
Sing in Adult Choir:  The Sacred Adult Choir is for any person who loves to praise the Lord with the use of their voice.
Sing Solo’s:  Singers with quality singing voices needed to provide “special” solo anthems for worship services.
Social Activity Interest.
Social Activity Interest:  Having an interest in one or more of the following with the willingness to play them. Baseball,
Basketball, Boating, Bowling, Camping, Canoeing, Dart ball, Fishing, Golf, Hunting, Racquetball, Sailing, Soccer, Softball,
Volleyball, Wally ball and others.
Trade Specialist.
Audio/Visual Repair:  Having the knowledge to fix our worship audio or visual equipment.
Carpentry:  Having the skill of wood working and building things for the church.
Electrical:  Having the skill of Electrical working and to make repairs.
Exterminator:  One who has the equipment and access to keep the church and school bug free.
Fixing Machines:  Being able to fix a variety of office machines.
Handy Man:  One able to do many handy tasks, on a day by day basis.
Heating/Cooling:  Having the ability to replace or fix heating and cooling systems.
Masonry:  Knowing how to do brick work or concrete repairs to the church and school.
Painting:  Helping with the painting of the church or school.
Plumbing:  Having the knowledge to repair our and make updates when needed.
Roofing:  One who enjoys heights and knows the skill of repairing areas of the roof which could include damage or just wear and tear
over the years.
Trucking:  Helping the church with transporting various items.
Tune Piano:  Familiar with tuning and the working parts of the piano.
Welding:  Knowing the art of welding and having the necessary equipment to perform various welding applications.
Vacation Bible School.
VBS Crafts:  The children of VBS truly enjoy being creative and working with their hands. One would assist in planning and organizing
crafts for the week, advertise the craft needs and keep accurate accounts.
VBS Helper:  Volunteer to help out the week of VBS. Usually three hours a day 9:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m. for 5 days. May include some
preparation time prior to VBS week depending on your ministry.
VBS Leader/Coordinator:  Plan and organize all VBS and appoint planning committee to assist in duties. Attend VBS workshop in February
and choose curriculum for VBS. Plans leadership meeting to inform all of VBS staff of planned functions, dates and times. Advertise
VBS through Church Bulletin and Monthly Newsletter, and Day School Newsletter.
VBS Music:  Lead the singing to different age groups during the week of VBS.
VBS Public Relations:  Contact area newspapers, radio stations local businesses and churches and report to them VBS dates, times and functions.
VBS Refreshments:  Organize all kitchen needs for the week of VBS including snacks, drinks and supplies. Advertise in advance the need
for these items.
VBS Registraton:  Place pre-registered and children registered during VBS into grade level classes. Making up VBS Registration Form.
VBS Teacher:  Teach the children in a loving, caring manner the Love of Our Triune God through the lessons which have been chosen in advance.
You are to also decorate your classroon area.
VBS Traffic Control:  Volunteer to help direct traffic on the days of VBS.
Worship Ministry.
Acolyte:  Involves the lighting and extinguishing of the church candles. This is part of the fulfillment of confirmation class. It is offered to all 6th thru 8th graders.
Altar Guild:  Aids in preparing the chancel for worship and the Sacraments and also by cleaning the sacramental vessels after the service.
Children’s Sermon:  Deliver children messages during the worship service, Sunday School or VBS events. This person does not have to write the message.
Church Transportation:  Bring and take people home who cannot drive to church services or church functions.
Creative Worship:  Be a member of a group that would meet, receive a list of text and themes of worship messages, think of and prepare multi Media and unique ideas to enhance the message.
Lay Reader:  This person reads the appointed Old Testament Scripture in worship services. There are many services on a weekend. The volunteer needs to indicate which service best fits their church attendance.
Liturgist:  Assist Pastor in leading worship, individual is a male member, leads the liturgy for worship services.
Money Counter:  Counts weekly collection of tithing and recording the necessary items. This is usually done on Monday Morning.
Nursery/Caregiver:  Care for children 3 years of age and under. One would be interested in providing this care for the children during services.
Plan Special Services:  The planning of special services to honor our Lord is indeed needed and loved. This would include writing of liturgies, preparing special themes and preparing prayers for worship.
Praise Team Crew Set Up:  Set up and take down the musical instruments for our Contemporary Services and the Praise Team. This is scheduled for Saturday Evenings, inside during the winter and outside during the summer.
Run Audio/Visual Equipment:  Involves running the video and audio equipment, programming the screens for worship service and making adjustments as needed.
Run Lighting Equipment:  This involves running the lights for service and making adjustments during the service when the choirs sing, or the Pastor is making a special message.
Set Up 9:00 a.m. Summer Worship:  Set up and take down all necessary equipment for the Worship Service to take place outside. This includes all Pastors needs, the Sacrament and musical equipment.
Sunday Coffee Coordinator:  On Sunday during the early service make the coffee and set up table with donuts and cookies in the nook area. This allows time for our members and visitors to fellowship before Bible Study. This would also include assuring there is coffee, tea, hot chocolate and eats for Sunday morning Worship as well as cups and other necessities.
Sunday Coffee Helper:  One would assist the Coffee Coordinator in their duties either by bringing items, ordering items, or assisting on Sunday mornings.
Tape Ministry:  One would be responsible for keeping the church aware of the need for additional blank tapes and labels and preparing and recording the tapes for shut-ins, college students and others who have requested them.
Usher:  One would be responsible to arrive 30 minutes before the worship service to prepare the sanctuary and organize and distribute bulletins. During worship they collect the “We Care Cards”, collect offering and direct people as they receive Holy Communion. Afterwards, they pickup any papers left in church pews or floors, replace all Bibles and Hymnals to proper areas and place the “We Care Cards” in pew.
Youth Ministries.
Bible Study Helper:  This person will assist the Junior or Senior High Bible Study Leader. The Assistant should be able to substitute for the leader as well as co-lead/co-teach the Bible Study.
Boy Scout Helper:  Help with Boy Scouts.
Boy Scout Leader:  Willing to be trained to lead Boy Scouts.
Girl Scout Helper:  Help with Girl Scouts.
Girl Scout Leader:  Willing to be trained to lead Girl Scouts.
Lead Youth Bible Study:  This person would lead a Sunday morning or weekday Bible Study. Bible Study should be relevant to the interest of today’s youth. Person may lead a Junior or Senior High Bible Study.
Participate in Youth Group:  Meet with other youth, have fun with other Christians, explore and strengthen your faith in Jesus.
Referee Sports:  Oversee the playing of basketball, volleyball or soccer games etc., aiding the school in the development of Christian athletes. This helps young people learn the “Rules of the Game”.
Work with Middle School:  Assist with 5th and 6th grade youth. Be a role model. Help chaperone and build relationships with youth.
Work with Junior High:  Assist with 7th and 8th grade youth. Be a role model. Help chaperone and build relationships with youth.
Work with Senior High:  Assist with leading the 9th thru 12th grade students. Includes youth nights and other events.
Youth Activities Helper:  Assist in planning or chaperoning youth events.
Youth Activities Leader:  Lead, organize and plan youth events.
Youth Basketball Helper:  Helping the coach with the High School Youth team by preparing them and being at practices and games.
Youth Softball Helper:  Helping the coach with the High School Youth team. Preparing them and being at practices and games.
