Dr. Gary Pawlitz

Gary Pawlitz became our Minister of Fellowship and Service and was installed January 6, 1991- came on staff January 1, 1991. Prior to his years at Immanuel he served as teacher in Rochelle, Illinois, principle, teacher, and Parish Administrator in Ionia, Michigan and principle and teacher at St Paul Lutheran in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

Gary is a 1966 graduate of Concordia, Ann Arbor and a 1968 graduate at Concordia, Seward, Nebraska and a 1972 of Northern Illinois University with a Masters Degree in Administration and he received his Doctorate from Walden University in 1995. On July 12, 1969 he married Carol (semi-retired). They have two children: Gary II, who has gone to be with his Lord, and Kathy (married to Kevin) a public school teacher who is currently home with their two grandchildren Allison and Elizabeth.

Some of the areas of responsibilities that Gary has here at Immanuel is in the area of Volunteer Ministry and Assimilation involving lay people in Ministry, our HIS Group Home Bible Studies, our different support groups at Immanuel, and our Risk Management Program. He is also our representative for Thrivent, Church Extension Fund, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and is the leader of our New Member Seminar and reception of New Members. Gary is also responsible for our Information Center, our Men's Club, and plans and organizes different Fellowship activities. These are a few of the areas of repsonsibilities that Dr Gary has at Immanuel.

Some of his personal interests are golf, hunting, fishing, working with wood, and teaching a hunter safety course. He has authored articles which have appeared in national teachers magazines and more recently he and his wife had one of their books on children's messages published by Concordia Publishing House.
