On August 16, 1970 he married Elizabeth (our Minister of Early Childhood). They have 4 children: John (1973), who is with the traveling team of Second City of Chicago; Joel (1975), an Electrical Engineer with GM; Jaime (1977), married to Josuah Bachman, living in Valparaiso, Indiana with our granddaughter Rachel; and Jeremy (1983), a Freshman at Central Michigan University studying to be an elementary teacher.

Some of the areas of responsibility that Pastor Mike has here at Immanuel are the visionary for the congregation, the primary preacher, the planning of worship services, the leading of the staff, watching over the doctoral content of materials used, writing the news releases, responsible for the stewardship efforts of the congregation and many other administrative details.  Throughout his ministry he has been involved on the circuit level as Circuit Counselor; on the district level as Chairman of The Evangelism Board, on numerous calling committees, and as Chairman of the Mission and Ministry Committee.  On the Synodical level, he has served on different Task Forces and Commitees. Pastor Mike and Liz enjoy traveling and spend many of their vacations traveling overseas.
