My goal is to make volunteering a pleasurable experience for the children and the volunteers. The schedule was prepared utilizing the volunteer surveys that I had parents fill out at the beginning of the year. If you are available to volunteer and do not see your Child’s Number, please contact me. The vacant dates are reserved for those whose availability have changed and would like to volunteer. If your availability has changed and you are not able to volunteer, please let me know so that I can adjust the schedule accordingly.

Dear Families,

I want your child to be a successful reader and for that, I need your help.

When children choose their own books to read for pleasure, they enjoy reading more and spend more time doing it. The more your child reads, the better they will do in school and in life.

Scholastic Book Clubs flyers are made for you and your child to shop for books your child will love to read. Each month, the flyers are filled with trusted, excellent quality, age-appropriate books chosen by Scholastic for prices as low as one dollar.

Plus you will be helping our class when you order: Scholastic matches each order you place with FREE BOOKS for our classroom to share.

Thank you for helping your child become a successful reader.
You can place your orders online at scholastic.com/bookclubs using my class activation code: Q6XK8

God’s Blessings,
Mrs. Sodergren

Hello, my name is Nicole Sodergren. I have been a member of Immanuel since 2008. My husband Scott and I have three children: Zachary in sixth grade, Alyssa in fifth grade, and Lexi in second grade. Our children have attended Immanuel since preschool.  Their preschool experience first introduced me to the amazing program and staff of Immanuel of which I am blessed and honored to be a member. I have a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Studies from Rochester College.  I have many years of Early Childhood experience working with children with special needs through the Macomb Early On Program at Macomb Intermediate School District. This experience grew my love for young children and the importance of providing early learning experiences for young children. I am blessed that God fulfilled my desire to teach at Immanuel. Teaching 4-year-old preschool has enhanced my calling as an Early Childhood teacher by allowing me to share the love of Jesus! I have also been a substitute teacher for Immanuel K-8 school. I have led classes in both, Immanuel’s Kid’s Ministry Program and Immanuel’s Vacation Bible School. I am extremely passionate about helping each child reach their own personal goals in all areas of development. I embrace that God made each of us special and unique. Children learn in different ways and at different times. I do my best to provide multiple learning opportunities in my classroom. I look forward to an exciting year working with your children, getting to know your families, and watching them grow developmentally, academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Hello, my name is Kim James.  I have been a member of Immanuel since 1977, where I attended church and the school.  I continued my education at Lutheran High North and received my Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management from Oakland University.  My husband and I have two children, Joshua which attended Immanuel and currently is a student at Lutheran High North and Zachary, currently enrolled here at Immanuel in first grade.  I have enjoyed volunteering at Immanuel with the VBS Program and Basketball Clinics.  Although my background is in Business Management my heart and passion has always led me back to Immanuel and working with God’s children.  I am so blessed and excited to be part of the preschool program here at Immanuel!  I look forward to working with your children and sharing God’s word with them!
