Dress Code For The 2004 – 2005 School Year
Grades K–8 / Boys & Girls


Starting in the Fall 2004 school year, Immanuel is instituting a new school dress code.  All clothing must be purchased from the LANDS’ END Direct Merchant School Catalog.  If you have any questions regarding the new dress code policy, please call the school office at (586) 286-7076.

    PANTS
  • Styles Allowed: Only pants that can be worn are those from the LANDS’ END Direct Merchant School catalog
  • Fit: Pants must fit the body properly in proportion to the waist, inseam, and length
  • Shorts: Shorts (same rules as above- LAND’S END catalog only) are allowed in August, September, May, and June. The length of shorts must be no shorter than at or below fingertips with arms at the side with correct posture.
  • If pants have loops, you MUST wear a traditional type belt with a buckle.

    SHIRTS:
  • Styles Allowed: Only shirts that can be worn are those from the LANDS’ END Direct Merchant School catalog
  • Colors: Colors from the LANDS’ END catalog are all acceptable
  • Fit: Shirts must fit the body properly in length, neck, arm length, and torso size
  • All shirts will be tucked in the pants/ skirt at all times
  • All shirts must be properly buttoned
  • Girls – modesty should be exercised

    SWEATERS:
  • Styles Allowed: Only sweaters that can be worn are those from the LANDS’ END Direct Merchant School catalog.
  • Shirts from above must be worn under all sweaters and tucked in.
  • Fit: Sweaters must fit the body properly in terms of length, arm length, and torso size

    Dresses, Skirts & Jumpers:
  • Styles Allowed: Only Dresses, Skirts & Jumpers that can be worn are those from the LANDS’ END Direct Merchant School catalog.
  • Fit: Dresses, skirts and jumpers must have the hem no shorter than at or below fingertips with arms at the side with correct posture.

OTHER DRESS CODE POLICES

    SHOES:
  • Dress shoe, athletic shoe, or sandal is acceptable.
  • All shoes must be worn with socks.
  • Sandals must have a back strap. Heels must not be larger than 2”.
  • Note: All tennis and athletic type shoes must have a white sole or non-marking sole.

    GIRLS ONLY:
  • Hose are permitted in place of socks.
  • Jewelry is permitted with the exception of large hooped earrings.
  • Modest make-up is permitted for 7th & 8th grade girls only.

    BOYS ONLY:
  • No facial hair.
  • Haircut to be styled to end at the collar and not to exceed the bottom of the ears.

HAIR:  No coloring of hair shall be unnatural in its appearance.  Highlights should create NO contrasting effects.

SOCKS:  Must be worn at all times.

SCOUTING UNIFORMS may be worn on days of meetings. The complete uniform must be worn and fit properly.

TATTOOS AND BODY PIERCING are not permitted and are in violation of the dress code.

HATS OR SUNGLASSES may not be worn in school.

OUTERWEAR such as jackets, sweatshirts, hooded sweatshirts, fleecetops, etc.may not be worn in class.

Any questions about the dress code should be asked of a teacher or the principal before the item is worn to school.   Students that come to school out of dress code will be sent to the school office where a phone call will be made in order to correct the dress code infraction.  The students will wait by the school office until the proper clothing is brought to school by a parent or guardian.  Belts will be rented to a student for $1.00 and will be donated to the chapel project of that time.
