Robert Christian "Bob" was born and raised in Elgin, Illinois, a town just west of Chicago. His father was his principal at St. John Lutheran School in Elgin. He attended Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois, where he met his wife, Lynn. They both graduated from Concordia in 1975 with teaching degrees and a love for church music.

They were married that summer of '75 and moved to Toledo, Ohio, where Bob taught 6th grade, Lynn taught 1st grade, and both were actively involved in the music of Trinity Lutheran Church and School.

In 1978, Bob received his Masters' degree from Bowling State University of Ohio in School Administration and Supervision. In 1980, the Lord led Bob to accept the call to Immanuel Lutheran School and Church to be the principal and 7th & 8th grade teacher. Bob recently celebrated his 25th year in ministry - 20 of those years at Immanuel. Bob now serves as full-time principal, 8th grade science teacher, and shares the responsibility of Minister of Music with Lynn.

Bob and Lynn have 3 children who went through Immanuel Lutheran School with their dad as principal and teacher. Sara, Andrew, and Tim have all graduated from Lutheran High School North. Sara and Tim are attending college, while Andrew works and lives at home. Bob has two brothers and a sister who are educators and / or musicians. Bob loves to "read a good book", mess around in the garden and the yard, and cheer for the Chicago Cubs...Bulls... Bears...Blackhawks, listen to "good" Christian music, and direct the Sacred Choir of Immanuel. He is thankful to God for his family, his Immanuel family, and especially the children of Immanuel School and the wonderful staff that he works with daily.
